James F. Hoge, Jr. is chair of Human Rights Watch’s board of directors and former long-time editor of Foreign Affairs. Hoge has also been a Washington correspondent, then editor and publisher, of metropolitan newspapers in New York and Chicago that won seven Pulitzer Prizes under his leadership. He works with several international and academic institutions.
